The conference registration fee includes :

Paper submission

Please submit your contribution

Deadline: 22 April 2008

Contributions should be active and raise issues for discussion. They should be submitted for

* hands-on sessions
* debate sessions
* poster sessions

All proposals for contributions (3000 words max) should follow the instructions carefully. Once accepted and whatever format you choose for your activity during the workshop, full papers may be submitted for publication in the proceedings.

Note that proposals with student co-authors are highly desirable.

Contributions on other Active Learning themes (cooperative learning, tools for group work, faculty development, student training, etc.) will also be welcome.

Debate sessions

Proposals for debate sessions must include a question (or questions) to be discussed around specific issues linked with active learning. Several proposals around similar questions will be grouped together to form a stimulating debate session.
Each contributor will have the opportunity to present his/her topic of discussion in context (max 5 min, 3 visuals), the facilitator will then run the debate encouraging exchange among all present.

Poster

Posters should be thought provoking

1.intended to generate discussion about issues in active learning
or
2.describing approaches currently practised in your institution, highlighting a key issue.

Posters (3 or 4) will be grouped according to topics and presenters will have the opportunity to explain and discuss their content with the workshop participants.
